I was speaking to one of the parents in our centre about the child’s progress and the mother commented and said that since the start of the program, she could see her son improving in reading, even after a couple of lessons.
And it’s important to remember that while we as parents feel the joy of seeing our children progress, to the child, it is equally if not more joyful. For them, it is the first time in their lives that they are encountering the new ability to do something. Be it being able to pronounce a word, recognise it when they see it, spell and write it out correctly; to them it’s possibly one of the most incredible moments they will encounter in their educational journey.
Here in Eye Level SS2, we believe that we become what we practice in the in-betweens of the everyday.
Let us remember to celebrate the small wins with our students and children.
For it is the cumulation of small wins that make a big difference! 🙌🏼
