The Eye Level Goals
1. Self – Directed Learning
In which Students take responsibility for their own learning goals and outcomes. Through the program, students are put in an environment of LEARNING AT THEIR OWN PACE where they are able to achieve this goal.
2. Mastery
In an environment where they are allowed to learn at their own pace, students have the opportunity to master the understanding and skills in the subject. This then leads to more confidence and ownership of their own learning and hence a greater interest in the subjects.
3. Building a Strong Foundation
The program works because of the focus on a strong understanding and foundation of the topics they learn through the worksheets. Students who undergo this program and abide by the program’s rules are set to go above and beyond school level in the program within 2 to 3 years.
Achieving the Goals
In order to achieve the above goals, the following criteria MUST be met without compromise for the student to fully benefit from this program.
1. Consistent Study
Consistent study refers to an uninterrupted study schedule be it during the holidays or school exams. Students MUST continue to practice the workbooks on a regular basis. Taking back worksheets to do at home also achieves this as the students will review them in the next class.
This also means that students are responsible for staying consistent with the right attitudes and habits in order to achieve their goals through the program.
2. Repetition
The Eye Level program is designed with repetition being at the core of mastery. So much so that it is not uncommon for booklets to be repeated at an average of 6 – 8 times to ensure mastery of the topic.
Repetition also eventually leads to independence as students learn that they have the capacity to solve problems on their own when given the right amount of opportunities to do so.
3. Starting at a Low Level
Starting at the Eye Level also means that the student must start at a level at which they need to master before going on to more advanced topics. This ensures a strong foundation at the basics to be able to proceed to the next level. Students only proceed if they pass the level tests. Criteria for passing Level Tests for both Math and English are: 90% and above and within time Limit.
What to Expect
1. Student's feedback
It is perfectly normal that your child AT FIRST may/will not like certain parts of the program. Repetition, low levels, not the same as what is taught in school. This is because this program is NOT a tuition program. Your child may ALSO find shortcuts through the program like duplicating answers in identical worksheets.
2. High Mastery Levels
There are several levels at which students commonly find difficult to master because a lot of practice is required. They are Level 9, Level 10, Level 11, Level 13, Level 15, Level 16. For a full description of these levels and more, please refer to these Math and English curriculum charts.
3. FOC
To be able to benefit from the program, students are taught that they must avoid doing the following: Finger Counting, Counting One by One and Writing Carry Overs.
What Eye Level is not
1. It is not A Tuition Centre
This program IS NOT designed to pair up or help students catch up with the school syllabus. Mixing and matching the levels BEFORE their foundation is built, to match up to school will not bear good results. Any skills above and beyond school level will only happen after 2 – 3 years in the program.
2. Not a short term, quick result program
The process of building habits and skills is one that takes time and will not happen within a short period. Math and English are subjects that require long term practice and commitment in order to achieve MASTERY.
3. Not Teacher Oriented
The Math and English program has been designed to put your child at the centre of his/her learning. The mistakes they make and the topics they learn all depend on the attitudes they develop towards their learning and the practice they have through the worksheets.
Almost 95% of the content and skills learnt are from the worksheets. The instructors at the centre serve as facilitators who help students see their own potential as a self-directed learner through encouragement and topical discussions so that students can achieve their goals in the program.

At the end of the day it is the STUDENT’S responsibility to develop and to hold on to values that they can use when they grow up. Commitment, Honesty, Endurance and the ability to Think and Solve Problems Independently are skills and values that they will develop as long as we as Educators (Instructors and Parents alike) allow for them to do so.
